During the monthly Watson Chapel School District board meeting on Monday, October 11th the board had a special recognition award presented to a staff member and highlighted a special student for their monthly Wildcat Warrior Spotlight section.

Franky Hemphill a teacher and the Chairperson of the Personnel Policy Committee in the district Was recognized by the Arkansas Education Association and the board for recruiting the most members in zone two. Zone two in Arkansas starts in Jefferson County to West Helena and is the second of a total of six zones. The President of the association Carol Fleming talked to the board about the work that Hemphill has done for the association.

Following that announcement, Assistant Superintendent LaDonna Spain recognized Micah Horton as October’s Wildcat Warrior for his achievements.

Horton also gave a few words about his experience and what this means to him as a new student in the district.
