Two Golden Lion football players spent this week being measured, timed and interviewed at the HBCU Combine at the Oshner Sports Performance Center in New Orleans. Tight End Tristan Ballard was sized at 6’4, 240 and ran the third fastest 40 time at his position. He also had the top vertical jump in the TE position, at 29 inches. Also at the combine was OL Ryan Atkins, who weighed in at 297 lbs at just under 6′ 4″. He measured the longest wing span and had the second longest broad jump. Scouts from many NFL teams were on hand at the event. Both Ballard and Atkins will compete in the Legacy Bowl this Saturday at Tulane’s Yulman Stadium. The game will kickoff at 3 and will be broadcast live on the NFL Network.
