A one-vehicle accident on Interstate 30 near Hope Monday resulted in the death of a Texas woman.

According to a preliminary report, Rhana Shah, 29, of Ft. Worth was westbound near the 25-mile marker when she lost control of the 2023 Toyota Camry she was driving. The vehicle traveled across both lanes before entering a ditch on the north side of the roadway and hit a tree.

Shah was pronounced dead at Wadley of Hope Hospital by Hempstead County Coroner David Peters.

The accident was reported at 2:12 p.m. and the death was the 289th so far this year on the state’s highways.
