A 14-year-old girl was found shot to death Monday night in Pine Bluff, the 9th homicide of the year and the second in two days in the same area.
According to police, the girl was found inside a car between 23rd and 24th Avenue on Maple Street after officers responded to a reported shooting at 9:43 p.m. Monday. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not released the name of the victim because she is a minor.
Police said the shooter or shooters and the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.
On Sunday, officers found Brandon Dement, 36, in front of a house in the 2100 block of South Maple. Dement had gunshot wounds and was taken to Jefferson Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made in that incident which is still under investigation.
