The historic Sunbeam billboard has been fully restored.
The billboard at South Main Street and East Harding Avenue features Little Miss Sunbeam who swings back and forth. It’s owned by Flowers Baking Company. Flowers Baking Company used the Sunbeam girl in print and outdoor advertisements in the 40s, 50s and 60s across the country. The company unveiled the restoration in a ceremony Thursday, saying it fixed up the billboard to “preserve history” for future generations. The Pine Bluff billboard was put up around 1942.
Many Pine Bluff residents say that the billboard reminds them of their childhood and is a a community landmark.
