A Sherwood man who was attempting to push a disabled vehicle off the roadway in Pulaski County early Thursday morning was killed when he was hit by another vehicle.

According to a preliminary report, Zack Clark, 24, had been a passenger in a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria that was stopped in the travel lane on I-630 near exit 7 and had gotten out to push the vehicle out of the roadway.

He was hit by a 2017 Hyundai Sonata driven by Melvin Haney, 67, of North Little Rock.

Clark was taken to Baptist Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Haney and Hannah Friedl, 23, also of Sherwood, who was the driver of the Ford, were injured and taken to hospitals in Little Rock.

The accident was reported at 1:12 a.m. and the death was the 333rd so far this year on the state’s highways.
