Jefferson County Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr., was one of the first law enforcement officers on the scene after a reported shooting near the campus of Pine Bluff High School.

On Tuesday, Woods was asked about that and about school security when he appeared on the Oldies 1013 morning show.

He said he understood how vitally important it is to make sure schools are safe and respond rapidly to anything that happens on campus, off-campus, or near the campus.

He was then asked about efforts by Pine Bluff School District Superintendent Barbara Warren to move the high school campus from its present location to what is now Jack Robey Junior High.
