Southeast Arkansas College is nearing the end of its first eight-week session and according to SEARK President Dr. Stephen Bloomberg, is planning a registration event for the second eight-weeks, as well as the spring semester.

On Friday, the school will host the registration event which will feature a live broadcast on Deltaplex Radio from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Appearing on the Oldies 1013 morning show Thursday, Bloomberg talked about it.

Morning show host Greg Horne mentioned the convenience of the eight-week courses for people who could not spend an entire 16 weeks in one class, as they would have to do at a traditional college or university.

Horne also talked about large universities like the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where enrollment is increasing while it is decreasing at smaller schools. That decrease also affected SEARK during the COVID pandemic but Horne said the numbers now appear to be coming back up.
