Two Pine Bluff men accused of violating the Machine Gun Act will have to post $100,000 bonds to be released from the adult detention center after a court hearing Wednesday.

Javonni Kendall, 20, and Jaqualyn Kendall, 19, were taken into custody after police were sent to the area of 29th Avenue and Hazel Street Monday in response to a report of multiple males walking in the area with illegal weapons.

Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said three males were see entering Hazel’s Bottle Shop and when police confronted the males, one of them took a black handgun with a switch and placed it on a shelf.

The other males were searched for officer safety and one of them had a black Glock handgun with a switch and the third male had an AR-15 inside his pants.

Both Kendall’s said they would hire their own attorneys and were  told to come back to court June 6.
