SeArk College has a lot of projects that are ongoing with the addition of their athletic department, but there are some other things the school has to focus on during the summer months other than athletics alone.

SeArk College President Dr. Steven Bloomberg joined the Oldies 101.3 morning show on Tuesday saying that the school is preparing for a couple of big events to include an event to promote registration in July.

Bloomberg said a new course that will be offered this year is a course for bench jewelers. He said Bill Jones from Sissy’s Log Cabin approached him with the idea due to the need of bench jewelers that is rising across the United States.

Bloomberg added that bench jewelers start off making between $40-$50k per year and have the ability to make much more during their career. He also spoke about how the curriculum for the course was designed.

He added that there is a two-year course available for anyone that is interested, but you can exit the program and get a great paying job after one year.
