SeArk College President Dr. Steven Bloomberg joined the Oldies 101.3 morning show on Tuesday morning to cover a variety of topics to include the new student housing center, known as “The Reef” located at the former Davis East Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Bloomberg said the plan is to open “The Reef” in early August.

Bloomberg said “The Reef” will be open to both athletes and non-athletes and their plan is to make sure they have a place to live in the fall.

Bloomberg added that while the housing will be used for athletes, it is the school’s responsibility to make sure any student that has trouble with housing has a place to stay.

He added that housing will be affordable, with an all-inclusive deal where housing and a meal plan is included for around $4,000 per semester.

Bloomberg finished by saying that they want to be competitive in their pricing while also being able to make sure each student living in “The Reef” has access to at least one hot meal every day.
