SeArk College names Belinda Hendrix as inaugural softball coach

Southeast Arkansas College (SEARK) is pleased to announce the hiring of Belinda Hendrix as the first-ever Women’s Softball Head Coach. Hendrix is a highly successful coach with a proven track record of developing student-athletes both on and off the field. She is a strong recruiter, motivator, and communicator with an outstanding win/loss record.

Hendrix brings an impressive set of accomplishments to the SEARK program, including leading Chipola College to three National Championships in 2007, 2015, and 2019.

SEARK President, Dr. Steven Bloomberg, expressed his excitement for the hiring of Hendrix, “We are thrilled to have Belinda Hendrix join the SEARK family. Her experience and accomplishments speak for themselves, and we believe she will be an exceptional addition to our athletics program. We look forward to seeing the impact she will have on our student-athletes and the SEARK community.”

Chad Kline, Athletic Director, echoed Bloomberg’s sentiments, “Belinda Hendrix is an outstanding coach who has achieved numerous milestones in her career. We are confident that she will continue to develop and inspire our student-athletes, as well as elevate the softball program to new heights.”

Hendrix began her coaching career as the Head Softball Coachand ESE Certified Teacher at Vernon High School in 2001 and has since held coaching positions at Chipola College and East Tennessee State University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Troy University in 2001 and received an Associate of Science degree from Thomas University.

Hendrix has achieved an overall collegiate record of 723-187 and an overall high school record of 74-23. She has coached over 50 NJCAA All Americans and graduated 90% of her student-athletes, while also sending over 70 former players to four-year institutions or national teams. With her numerous accolades and achievements, Hendrix has cemented herself as one of the most successful softball coaches in the country.
