The Salvation Army in Pine Bluff is offering a new program for children ages 6 to 12, according to local Salvation Army Officer Jason Purdue.

Appearing on the Oldies 1013 morning show Wednesday, he talked about the program he and his wife Lt. Rachel Purdue will be conducting. The couple was recently married.

The Salvation Army is a United Way agency and Leslie Dorn, executive director of the United Way talked about efforts by Purdue and his wife to build up the local programs.

The Purdue’s also talked about the food distribution program the Salvation Army also conducts Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 12:45 p.m.
