Population figures for the City of Sheridan have been revised upward, according to the Sheridna Headlight newspaper.

The newspaper reported that the Census Bureau, which initially  listed the population at 4,920, now says the population is above 5,011, which will mean an additional $3,000 a month in state turnback revenue.

Sheridan Mayor Cain Nattin said he also expects the increased population will result in new businesses looking at Sheridan as a place to locate.

The newspaper reported that the population of Sheridan has increased by nearly 60 percent since 1990.
