Dr. Qinglong Jiang has joined the Department of Chemistry and Physics at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) as an assistant professor of Nanoscience-Chemistry.
Dr. Jiang received his PhD in chemistry at the Northern University of Illinois. Prior to joining in UAPB, Dr. Jiang worked in the Argonne National Laboratory after his postdoc research career at the Florida State University/National High Magnetic Field Laboratory.
Jiang’s main research areas include focusing on chemical/nano materials for optical/electric/energy/magnetic devices such as halide perovskite for solar cell and light emitting, dye sensitive solar cell, electrochromism, sensors, and fluorescence. He has been working on several projects funded by the National Science Foundation with over 30 publications and top journals. An international presenter, he has collaborated with Argonne National Laboratory, University of Tennessee at Knoxville and several international institutions.
Dr. Jiang is also serving as Managing Editor for Engineered Science and ES Materials & Manufacturing, Editorial Board for Advanced Composites and Hybrid Materials, and Reviewer for several journals.
With financial support from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Post-secondary Education, Strengthening Institutions, Title III, Historically Black Colleges and Universities Program, Dr. Jiang will work closely with the nanoscience committee to foster collaboration with both domestic and international institutes and universities, develop new courses, and support training minority students in Nanoscience Chemistry. Future plans include the development of effective and engaging undergraduate and graduate courses in Nanoscience chemistry, as well as mentoring and advising students regarding careers in the discipline.
