Work on pollinator gardens at Monticello will continue, according to a story in the Advance Monticellonian newspaper.

The pollinator garden is a type of garden designed with the intent of growing plants that specifically produce nectar and pollen to attract insects.

Former Monticello Mayor Paige Chase approved the idea for the garden in 2018 and planting began in 2020.

The newspaper said he garden was to be at Jordan Park, the Sports Complex and Lake Monticello with a goal of the garden being both educational and to promote tourism. It was estimated that it would take 3 to 5 years for the plants to produce nectar and pollen.
