22-year-old, Datreon Morris Sr., has been arrested for the murder of 25-year-old, Jmarcus Giles. Morris turned himself in around 3:30 P.M.
Morris has been be booked in at W. C. Dub Brassell Detention Center for Capital Murder.

A 25-year-old man was shot and killed in the Dollarway area of Pine Bluff on Sunday morning as he tried to intervene in a domestic dispute, and police have identified a suspect in the homicide.

Jmarcus Giles, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene Sunday by the Jefferson County coroner’s office. Datreon Morris Sr., 22, was still being sought as of Sunday evening.

Pine Bluff police went to the apartments at 1401 Cottonwood St. on Sunday in response to a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as Giles, lying in the parking lot in front of building 21 with an apparent gunshot wound. Police said Giles was unresponsive.

According to statements taken at the scene, Giles intervened in a domestic disturbance between a family member and Morris, resulting in the shooting. Police said Morris then fled the scene with another male. The vehicle and the driver had been located in Little Rock as of Sunday evening, while Morris was still at large.

This is the city’s 24th homicide, and came just hours after another shooting in the city that killed one, critically injured and injured two others.
