The Pine Bluff Regional Chamber of Commerce has named Lynette M. Bloomberg of Pine Bluff as the chamber’s new director, effective May 1. “Our executive committee and board are pleased about this new hire,” said Janice Acosta, chamber board chairman. She replaces Nancy Lee McNew, who has been promoted to another position within the Economic Development Alliance organization.

Bloomberg joins the Alliance’s professional community and economic development staff after serving for the past year as community engagement & special projects coordinator at Southeast Arkansas College here. Her husband, Steven, is SEARK’s president. Early in her career, Bloomberg worked as a finance manager and credit analyst and she has previously worked as a free-lance writer. She is also a published author of several articles in World Literature Today and selections of her poetry in literary journals.

The chamber’s new director holds two Master of Arts degrees, one in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma College of Professional & Continuing Studies and another in English/Cultural & Literary Studies from the University of Oklahoma. Her Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Writing is also from the University of Oklahoma.
