A $5,000 bond was set Tuesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of using his vehicle to chase the vehicle belonging to a female who had been involved in an altercation with a man who was in the vehicle with the suspect.

Trevonte Jackson, 21, reportedly admitted chasing the woman’s car with his vehicle Friday but denied her claims that he tried to hit her vehicle with his.

During a court hearing Tuesday, Deputy Prosecutor Jay Gerard said police were sent to a reported disturbance on South Belair Drive where the female reported that her ex-boyfriend had broken into her residence and taken her cell phone. About two hours later, she called back and reported that her ex-boyfriend was in a car that was chasing hers.

Detective Keith Banks reported that there were two other people in the vehicle with the woman and their statements matched those of the victim.

Jackson was ordered to have no contact with the victims until the case is settled and told to come back to court Feb. 2.
