White Hall High School was placed on a temporary lockdown Wednesday morning after a photo was circulated among students.

White Hall Police responded to the campus and Chief Greg Shapiro told Deltaplex News that they determined there were no threats to students or school property.

Shapiro said police will continue their efforts to identify the source of the photograph but there no was basis to believe the photograph, which was reportedly a gun, was taken at White Hall.

An email the district sent to parents said the photo was taken in an El Paso School, but Shapiro said he could not confirm that.

He went on to say that if it is determined that the photograph was made locally, police will get with prosecutors and seek charges against the person or persons responsible.

The email from the district went on to say, “A special thank you to our students for reporting the photo to our administration and the White Hall Police for responding so quickly.”
