The Star City School Board was told this week that the cost of cafeteria meals will increase during the next school year.

According to the Lincoln Ledger newspaper, meals which currently cost $2.50 will increase to $2.75. The state recommended costs for meals is $3.00 per meal.

Superintendent Jordan Frizzell told the board that the district will be receiving funds so they can provide free breakfasts and lunches again.

The board voted to buy a new dishwasher for the High School Cafeteria which will cost $36330.13 including installation of the new one and removal of the old one. Frizzell told the board the current dishwasher is 26 years old and has had to have costly repairs.

The newspaper also reported that Frizzell told the board that the current cafeteria fund is $98,000 in the black which he said is the best it has been in some time.
