The Woodlawn School Board has approved a bid from a Sheridan construction company to expand and renovate the school cafeteria.

According to the Cleveland County Herald, Brody Richardson Construction submitted a bid of $1.232 million for the project that will add nearly 2,800 square feet to the cafeteria. This will mean more dining space for students, add a second serving line and provide more kitchen and storage space.

Richardson said it will take about eight months to complete the project, which is expected to begin as soon as students leave for the summer break but some of the exterior work could begin before the end of the school year.
