The on-again, off-again Watershed Project to reduce flooding problems in Pine Bluff and Jefferson County is on again but is still a long way from bringing relief to property owners.
Frank Batemon, head of the Black Mayors Association told the Pine Bluff City Council Monday that the planning phase of the project has been completed and the design phase is set to begin.
Council Member Bruce Lockett talked about the project with Deltaplex News.
Batemon said about $3 million was spent for the planning phase and another $4 million has been allocated for the design phase, which is expected to take 18 to 24 months.
