Vilonia Woman Dies in Single Vehicle Crash on Highway 319 in Lonoke County

A 39-year-old woman from Vilonia was killed Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash in rural Lonoke County, according to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police.

The crash occurred at 9:56 a.m. on Feb. 7 along State Highway 319 near 10322 SH 319.

Authorities identified the victim as Samantha Williams, 39, of Vilonia. Williams was the driver and sole occupant of a 2010 Honda CR-V. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body is being held at the Lonoke County Coroner’s Office.

According to the report, the vehicle was traveling westbound on Highway 319 when it struck several mailboxes before reentering the roadway. The vehicle then crossed the centerline, left the roadway and struck a tree.

Weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
