Wednesday is United Way Day on Oldies 101.3 FM, featuring Greg Horne, Jennifer Lipp and Jason Duren of the United Way of Southeast Arkansas.
During this week’s segment, Duren discussed several upcoming events the organization will be involved in, including a fishing tournament.
Duren was joined by Pastor Matt Mosler of New Life Church, who discussed the Home Again Pine Bluff project, an initiative designed to help individuals move into homes they can eventually purchase. Mosler explained how the program began and outlined its goals.
Mosler said the organization is not only rehabilitating older homes but also constructing new ones in an effort to attract certified teachers and first responders. Those eligible can receive a $20,000 grant to help purchase a new home.
Mosler said the goal of Home Again Pine Bluff is to help families build generational wealth by improving homes and neighborhoods, and he noted the program has already exceeded expectations.
