Wednesday is United Way Day on Oldies 1013 and this week Krystal Stafford was joined by Susan Wolf, the coordinator of the White Hall Food Pantry who was asked how long the food pantry has been associated with the United Way.

Morning Show host Greg Horne noted that Wolf had mentioned 75 families and asked if that was about 200 to 300 people?

Wolf mentioned the United Way’s Helping Hands program, whose co-director, Barbara Goodwin was one of the people who created the White Hall Food Pantry and Horne asked her where else did food for the pantry come from?

Wolf said the Food Pantry is an all-volunteer effort and that local residents and church groups to help on the second Wednesday of the month to load the grocery sacks and the following day to help distribute the groceries.

She went on to say that if there is an emergency need for food, people can call the First Baptist Church at White Hall at 870-247-3124 and they will contact her. Schools in the White Hall School District can also contact her, as can people at the White Hall City Hall.
