Three Fatal Accidents Reported in Southeast Arkansas

Southeast Arkansas has seen a tragic string of fatal accidents over the past week, with three separate crashes claiming the lives of motorists in Jefferson, Lincoln, and Drew counties.

On Saturday, August 9, 2025, a single-vehicle accident occurred on Princeton Pike in Pine Bluff at around 7:30 p.m. According to the Arkansas State Police report, a 2004 Dodge SUV left the roadway, struck a ditch, and overturned.

Teresa Harrington, 62, of Hot Springs Village, was killed in the crash. Two others were injured: Brenda Thompson, 63, of Pine Bluff, and Leonetta Gammel, 66, of White Hall. Both were transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

Just two days later, on Monday, August 11, 2025, another deadly crash occurred on U.S. Highway 425 in rural Lincoln County. State police reported that a 2011 Honda Rancher left the roadway and struck a culvert, becoming airborne before ejecting the driver.

The victim, identified as 64-year-old Curtis Trotter Jr. of Star City, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to Griffin Funeral Home. No other injuries were reported.

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, a crash in rural Drew County claimed the life of a Monticello woman. The accident happened at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Brown Creek Bridge along Lacey New Hope Road.

The report states that a 2005 Ford Focus, traveling north, left the bridge, overturned, and landed on the north side of the creek embankment.

The driver, 59-year-old Lori Martha Ivezic of Monticello, was killed. Her body was taken to Stephenson Dearman Funeral Home.

All three crashes occurred in clear weather with dry road conditions.
