Suspect in Pine Bluff Homicide Arrested, Charged with Capital Murder

A suspect in a December homicide at a Pine Bluff convenience store is now in custody, according to the Pine Bluff Police Department.

Police said Akyell Malik Madison, 20, was taken into custody by the North Little Rock Police Department SWAT Team in connection with the shooting at the SOS convenience store located at 3402 Old Warren Road.

Authorities said Madison will be transported back to Pine Bluff to face charges. Investigators have now charged him with capital murder in the death of 29-year-old Marcus Jackson.

According to police, the investigation determined Madison used a rifle during the incident and was considered armed and dangerous prior to his arrest.

Officials credited the North Little Rock Police Department SWAT Team and assisting agencies for their role in safely apprehending the suspect. Police also thanked the community for its cooperation throughout the investigation.

The case remains active, and additional information may be released as it becomes available.
