Out of the major metropolitan areas measured in the state, drivers in Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers and Texarkana are paying the most for gas at $2.68.

In Hot Springs, drivers are paying the least at $2.54 per gallon.

“Gas prices often remain steady or dip during the fall, and this year is no exception,” said Nick Chabarria, AAA Spokesperson.

“With crude oil prices holding relatively low and demand easing, drivers may continue to see some relief at the pump heading into the upcoming busy holiday travel period.”

According to a release, Arkansas drivers are ending the month with gas prices 12 cents lower than when it began.

Strong supply and soft demand have been reported as contributing factors to prices at the pump, as a result of a steady decrease due to low crude oil costs.

Motorists may see prices continuing to decrease into early November, with the looming holiday season in sight.
