Sheridan Man Killed, Two Injured in Grant County Crash

A Sheridan man was killed and two others injured Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 229 South in rural Grant County.

According to an Arkansas State Police fatal crash report, the accident happened at 10:34 a.m. on August 20, 2025, near Forestry Road 9017.

The report states that a 2011 Dodge Ram was traveling north when it attempted to make a left turn, struck a stump with the front of the vehicle, and then collided with a tree on the passenger side.

David Hernandez-Cruz, 35, of Sheridan, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

Two others were injured in the crash: Ronaldo Hurtado Jimenez, 20, of Commerce, Texas, and Sebastian Hurtado Jimenez, 24, of Sheridan. Both were transported to Saline Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Weather conditions at the time were reported as cloudy, and the roadway was dry.

The crash remains under investigation by the Arkansas State Police.
