New Pine Bluff Police Department Chief Shawn Davis was officially sworn in during a ceremony held Friday afternoon at the Prince Hall Grand Lodge.
Davis assumes the role following the dismissal of former Chief Denise Richardson by Mayor Vivian Flowers earlier in 2025.
Davis said he is honored to have been named chief of police for the City of Pine Bluff.
Davis began his remarks by introducing his command staff and thanking the officers within the department, while also sharing his vision for the department moving forward.
Davis concluded by outlining several goals for the department.
