A $15,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Rison man accused of breaking into a house where his former girlfriend was in bed with another man and choking the man.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Vincent Orton, 31, with aggravated residential burglary, aggravated assault, third-degree battery and child endangerment.

During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said on Oct. 5, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy received a call about an incident that had occurred the previous night.

Spradlin said deputies also talked to another person who had been in the house at the time.

Orton, who has no prior convictions or pending charges was told to have no contact with the victims and to come back to court Dec. 22.
