Retired Colonel Nate Todd—a U.S. Army veteran with deep roots in Pine Bluff and a long history of serving the local community—announced today that he is running for Jefferson County Judge.
Col. Todd was born and raised in Pine Bluff, attending Carver Elementary and Pine Bluff High School. He graduated from the National War College and enlisted in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Colonel during his 30 years of service. Col. Todd continued to stay involved with the military in retirement, becoming the CFO of the VA Medical Center in Little Rock and eventually serving as Arkansas’ Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
“My time in uniform taught me that serving others is the highest form of leadership and that it is essential to put others’ needs before one’s own,” said Col. Todd. “I’m running for Jefferson County Judge because I want to help improve the quality of life for the people of my community.”
Col. Todd’s tenure as a commissioner for the Pine Bluff Port Authority and as a member of the Jefferson County Regional Medical Center Foundation Board has given him insight into how the county operates and what its most pressing needs are. If elected, Col. Todd will focus on expanding access to education, broadband, and workforce and economic development opportunities. He will also make sure that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely, build strong partnerships with Jefferson County communities, and work to restore trust in county government.
“Jefferson County has great opportunities to improve residents’ lives, but it will take strong leadership to capitalize on them. Through close collaboration between county government and local leaders, our communities can become even better places to live, work, and raise a family.”
Col. Todd is a man of faith and a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.
