A $10,000 cash only bond was set Friday for a Redfield woman accused of trying to return items to a store that had been paid for with a forged check.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Joy Wells, 49, with forgery and theft of property.
Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said the allegations are based on an affidavit from Detective Lt. Derrick Neal.
Akel said Wells has a prior conviction for robbery and pending charges in Jefferson County, Stuttgart and Dewitt.
She was told to come back to court on Sept. 5.
