Reported crime in Pine Bluff fell by nearly 12% year-over-year during the first 20 days of July 2025, according to newly released statistics from the Pine Bluff Police Department.
Between July 1 and July 20, 2025, the department recorded a total of 60 “shots fired” calls — a significant drop from 89 during the same period in 2024.
Several categories of crime saw encouraging declines:
-
Commercial burglaries dropped sharply from 12 to just 3.
-
Residential burglaries fell from 15 to 10.
-
Thefts declined from 75 to 59.
-
Vehicle thefts were down from 15 to 10.
However, some categories saw slight increases:
-
Simple assaults rose from 84 to 87.
-
Robberies increased from 3 to 4.
-
Rapes rose from 1 to 2.
-
Non-fatal shootings ticked up from 3 to 4.
-
Homicides tripled from 1 to 3 — but police confirmed arrests have been made in all three cases.
Other crime stats remained consistent. Aggravated assaults were unchanged at 28, and reports of “bullet to building” incidents held steady at two. “Bullet to vehicle” reports fell slightly from three to two.
“In an effort to be transparent with the community, we will be releasing more statistics as they become available,” said John Worthen, public information specialist for the Pine Bluff Police Department. “We want everyone to know we are fighting hard to stop crime in Pine Bluff. If you are participating in criminal activity in this city, you will be caught.”
The department says its commitment to public safety and transparency will continue as part of an ongoing effort to build trust and reduce crime throughout the community.
