Pine Bluff Sees Largest Crime Rate Drop in Five Years in 2025

Reported crime in Pine Bluff declined by nearly 13% from 2024 to 2025, according to final statistics released by the Pine Bluff Police Department.

Police reported 2,954 total crimes in 2025, down from 3,378 the previous year. Officials said 2025 marked the largest single-year improvement in the city’s crime rate over the past five years, with reported crime now down nearly 36% since 2021.

During 2025, Pine Bluff officers responded to 29,091 calls for service and conducted 4,754 traffic stops.

Crimes against persons

The city recorded 16 homicides in 2025, matching the total from 2024. Police said 11 of those cases have been solved. Two of the homicides occurred at the Jefferson County Jail but are included in Pine Bluff’s statistics.

Reports of shots fired dropped significantly, falling from 848 in 2024 to 571 in 2025. A total of 45 people were shot during the year, with December seeing the highest number at seven.

Rape reports increased slightly from 35 to 37, while robberies remained steady at 37. Aggravated assaults declined from 369 to 340, and simple assaults fell from 1,143 to 1,067.

Property crimes continue to fall

Police also reported notable decreases in property-related offenses. Commercial burglaries were cut nearly in half, dropping from 148 in 2024 to 73 in 2025. Residential burglaries declined from 211 to 175.

Thefts decreased from 1,178 to 1,041, and vehicle thefts fell from 234 to 163.

Traffic fatalities and domestic violence

There were seven vehicle-related fatalities in Pine Bluff during 2025, the same number reported in 2024.

Domestic violence remained a significant concern, with officers responding to 2,554 domestic violence calls throughout the year — averaging between 200 and 215 calls per month. Police made 178 arrests in domestic-related cases, issued 293 warnings and took 516 reports.

Department leaders credited continued enforcement efforts and community engagement for the downward trend in overall crime, noting that sustained reductions over multiple years reflect progress but emphasizing that work remains to further improve public safety across the city.
