Pine Bluff’s crime rate continued its downward trend in October, with overall reported offenses declining 11% compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the Pine Bluff Police Department.

Police recorded 275 total crimes in October 2025, down from 309 in October 2024. Year-to-date, 2,508 crimes have been reported across the city — a more than 25% decrease compared to the same point in 2024.

While overall crime was down, the data reflected mixed trends across specific categories. No homicides were reported in October, compared to one during the same month last year. Reports of rape dropped by half, from six in October 2024 to three this year.

However, some violent crimes rose. Robberies increased from one last October to six this year, while aggravated assaults climbed from 29 to 34. Simple assaults also rose, from 95 incidents in 2024 to 113 this October.

Property crimes saw notable declines. Commercial burglaries fell sharply — down more than 85%, from 21 cases last October to just three in 2025. Residential burglaries dropped slightly, from 18 to 16, while thefts declined from 122 to 91. Vehicle thefts were cut in half, falling from 16 to eight.

The Pine Bluff Police Department responded to 2,387 calls for service and conducted 267 traffic stops in October. So far this year, officers have made 28,284 calls for service and traffic stops combined.

Police also reported six vehicle-related fatalities and one pedestrian fatality so far in 2025.

City officials say the continued decline in overall crime reflects the department’s efforts to increase patrol visibility, strengthen community partnerships, and focus on crime prevention initiatives.
