The Pine Bluff School District is mourning the loss of Mrs. Debra McNeely, a longtime educator and treasured member of the Southwood Elementary School community.
In a statement released Monday, Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Barbaree announced Mrs. McNeely’s passing, describing her as a beloved teacher whose dedication, compassion, and professionalism made a lasting impact on generations of students and families.
Mrs. McNeely, a 2nd grade teacher at Southwood Elementary, was remembered for her ability to nurture a love of learning while creating a warm and supportive classroom environment. District officials said she touched countless young lives throughout her many years of service.
“Mrs. McNeely will be remembered not only for her dedication to education but also for her kindness, patience, and the lasting impact she had on her students and colleagues,” Dr. Barbaree said in the statement.
The district extended its condolences to Mrs. McNeely’s family, friends, students, and all who were blessed to know her.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
