A preliminary investigation by the Pine Bluff Police Department into the Sept. 14 death of Demetrice Moore, 37, of Pine Bluff, indicates Moore died by suicide.
According to the department’s Detective Office, the state medical examiner has ruled Moore’s death as an apparent suicide by hanging. Detectives said they are awaiting the full autopsy report, which will include toxicology results, before closing the case.
In response to speculation circulating on social media, investigators also noted that the door leading to the building Moore was found in was not padlocked at the time of his death.
Police said additional information will be released once the autopsy report is finalized.
