“On behalf of the Pine Bluff Police Department, I want to extend a sincere apology to the families who were impacted by the lack of communication regarding developments in these cases,” Davis wrote. “We understand that during difficult and emotional circumstances, families deserve to be kept informed about investigative progress and any significant updates that arise.”

The chief emphasized that the failure to consistently provide updates does not reflect the level of service and professionalism the department strives to deliver to the Pine Bluff community.

According to the letter, the department remains committed to transparency and accountability and is taking steps to ensure families receive timely updates as developments occur in their loved ones’ cases. Davis said the goal is to strengthen trust within the community and ensure those directly affected by criminal investigations feel supported, informed and respected throughout the investigative process.

The department also expressed appreciation for the patience and understanding shown by affected families and reiterated its dedication to serving the community with integrity, professionalism and compassion.

Family members with questions or who are seeking additional information about ongoing investigations are encouraged to contact the Pine Bluff Police Department Detective Bureau.
