Pine Bluff police officers arrested a man on August 6 after he allegedly abducted an 18-month-old child, stopping him before he could leave town.
According to the Pine Bluff Police Department Detective’s Office, investigators determined that Desmond Marks forcibly took the child from its mother, Tykionna Eans, at her apartment.
Marks was later found at his mother’s residence, where police say he had packed two bags and was preparing to leave with the child. Officers intervened before he could depart.
“Thanks to the swift response of Pine Bluff Patrol Officers and the Pine Bluff Detective’s Office, Marks was taken into custody without incident, and the child was safely returned to the mother,” said PBPD Public Information Specialist John Worthen.
Marks is charged with aggravated residential burglary and kidnapping.
