A $50,000 cash only bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man currently on probation who led police on a high-speed chase Friday night.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge James Nelson, 23, with felony fleeing.
Reading from an affidavit by detective Shaun Watson, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said at about 10 p.m., a police officer was northbound on South Blake Street approaching the Martha Mitchell Expressway.
Akel said the vehicle changed lanes at Noth Hutchinson Street at a speed of 110 miles-per-hour.
A Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department unit was stationary at the intersection of West 13th partially blocking the roadway.
Akel said prosecutors will be filing a petition to revoke Nelson’s probation on the previous offense. He was told to come back to court Oct. 20.
