Two separate $10,000 cash only bonds were set Monday for a Pine Bluff man accused of two separate theft offenses.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bonds after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Jerry McCormick, 39, with breaking or entering and theft of property in the first incident and theft of property in the second.

During the court hearing, a deputy prosecutor said on Feb. 19. A sheriff’s deputy was sent to the Food Mart at 1900 U.S. 270 where an air pump had been reported stolen.

When McCormick was interviewed, he claimed another person had stolen the truck but was not able to say when.

In the second incident, Pine Bluff Police Detective Jason Boykin reported that on Jan. 8, police were sent to Welch Nissan at 2505 S. Olive St., where Brian Erwin said two engines had been taken from a storage area.

A deputy prosecutor said police obtained security video of the theft.

McCormick was told to come back to court in April.
