A $5,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man accused of beating his son.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Ronald Chestnut, 39, with second-degree domestic battery.
Reading from an affidavit by Detective Shaun Watson, Prosecuting Attorney S. Kyle Hunter said on Feb. 28 at 9:57 p.m., police were sent to a residence on Ohio Street for a welfare check.
Watson reported the officer notified his supervisor and DHS was also contacted about the incident.
Chestnut was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court April 15.
