A $5,000 secured bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man accused of not being in compliance with his sex offender registration requirements.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge 49-year-old Anthony Johnson with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

Reading from an affidavit, Prosecuting Attorney Bill Snowden said on June 24th, probation officers made contact with Mr. Johnson, a level 2 sex offender, and during the investigation it was determined he was not in compliance with his registration requirements.

He failed to update the address listed on his license, 305 E 5th and 2nd, but his license says 1302 S Alabama. He also didn’t register his vehicle or phone as his.

Johnson was taken into custody and is scheduled to return to court.
