A $10,000 secured bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff woman accused of stealing several thousands of dollars from The United Way as the organization’s Financial Coordinator.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge 42-year-old Krystal Stafford with Theft of Property.
Reading from an affidavit, Prosecuting Attorney Bill Snowden said on May 15th, Detective Jason Boykin spoke with Jason Duren regarding an ex-employee, Krystal Stafford, who allegedly stole several thousands of dollars during her time working with United Way of Pine Bluff.
Duren explained she was the Financial Coordinator and was responsible for payroll and paying bills for the company.
She was apparently let go in April, and afterwards an audit revealed missing funds, duplicate deposit slips to her account and others, and bills that had not been paid- an estimated $110,000.
She is scheduled to return to court August 17th.
