A $50,000 cash only bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man on dug related charges.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Ricky Trantham, 52, with possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Chief Deputy Prosecutor Jill Reed asked for the cash only bond because Trantham is currently on probation, has a pending case and has four or more prior convictions.
Reading from an affidavit by Lt. Brett Talley, Reed said on Thursday, police were monitoring traffic on West 13th near Coleman School, and stopped a vehicle driven by Trantham because he was not wearing a seat belt. A records check indicated that Trantham’s driver’s license was suspended and there is a search waiver on file.
Trantham was told to come back to court April 20.
