A $50,000 bond was set Monday for a pine Bluff man for running from a state trooper who was attempting to stop the vehicle the man was driving.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Montia Eve, 40, with felony fleeing.

Reading from an affidavit by Arkansas State Trooper Ronald Weast Jr., Chief Deputy Prosecutor Jill Reed said on March 8 at 240 p.m., Trooper Weast attempted to stop a tan Chevrolet Tahoe at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Apple Street because a check of the license plate number showed the vehicle insurance was unconfirmed.

Reed said Eve has three prior felony convictions. He was told to come back to court April 22.
