A $15,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of shooting another man while the man was attempting to flee the scene in a vehicle.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Kortezz Strickland, 21, with first-degree battery and committing a terroristic act.

That bond was a compromise between the $25,000 that prosecutors asked for and the $5,000 the Public Defender requested.

Chief Deputy Prosecutor Jill Reed said Strickland was identified as the suspect after police were sent to a reported shooting on Fir Street Tuesday night.

Strickland was taken to the Detective Office where he agreed to make a statement.

Strickland was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Jan. 18, 2026.
