A $10,000 cash only bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man who fled from sheriff’s deputies that attempted to stop the car he was driving because it did not have a license plate.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Jaylin Mcallister, 26, with felony fleeing and carrying a weapon.
Chief Deputy Prosecutor Jill Reed said Mcallister has a pending charge of second-degree battery and is out on bond on that charge.
Reading from an affidavit by Investigator Kristen Garner, Reed said on Wednesday, a sheriff’s deputy was patrolling on Camden Road when he saw a vehicle driven by Mcallister that did not have a license plate and the deputy turned on his emergency lights to make a traffic stop when the vehicle turned into a parking lot but the vehicle did not stop.
Mcallister was told to come back to court April 20.
